ABSTRACT
This article presents the changes experienced by an asphalt mixture and the asphalt extracted from it, taken from a street in Bogotá, by adding an asphalt rejuvenator. Asphalt samples extracted with and without rejuvenator were tested by physical, rheological, chemical and calorimetric tests. Dynamic performance, rutting, trapezoidal fatigue and dynamic modulus tests were performed on the extracted asphalt layer with and without rejuvenator. With the use of asphalt rejuvenator, it was possible to increase the ductility by 551% compared to aged asphalt, reducing the stiffness of both the asphalt and the asphalt mix generated by aging in the short and long term. To corroborate this information, chemical tests of Fourier transform infrared spectrometry and differential scanning calorimetry were carried out, which indicated a decrease of 13,08% in the percentage of asphaltenes in the samples in which the asphalt rejuvenator was used.
