ABSTRACT:

The United Nations Institute for Vocational Training and Research UNITAR, belonging to the United Nations, and the Royal Automobile Club of 

Spain - RACE have launched what is, worldwide, the first specialized road safety training center of the UN.

In Latin America and the Caribbean more than 130.000 people die every year on the roads due to traffic accidents (a), and many more are disabled and disabled for life, with costs that reach 2% of the GDP of these countries.

The CIFAL Madrid RACE center makes available to these countries their knowledge and experience for the training of technicians, studying local problems and promoting good practices in road safety.

Higher political priority for road safety, park renovation, infrastructure improvement and development of road training plans, key to reducing traffic accidents.
