Buenos Aires: the challenge of safe mobility

ABSTRACT

The different exposure to risk among the different modes of transport, a key factor to analyze the road accident rate.

The option for public modes of transport not only has an influence on the mortality of people but has become critical in the development of cities due to the levels of pollution and occupation of the physical space that have been reached; individual transportation is not only unsustainable in terms of accident rates but also for physical, environmental and social reasons.

Zero vision should be understood as a necessary strategy for the purpose of creating safe transportation systems.

The city of Buenos Aires develops its public policy of safe mobility within the framework of these premises.
