ABSTRACT
The construction of the beltway Coatepec, located in the State of Veracruz (Mexico), was awarded to ALDESEM Construcciones, SA de CV, the construction subsidiary of Grupo ALDESA there. The purpose of this work was to build a ring road to the town of Coatepec, in order to reduce traffic inside it.
The works are in an area of high environmental interest. Furthermore, Mexican society, and in particular rural towns, have demonstrated heightened awareness in regard to the construction of infrastructures that damage the environment and crops. This context made it imperative to develop and put into practice a series of measures aimed at safeguarding the natural setting and its species before, during and after the construction of the infrastructure.
This article gives a detailed overview of the measures adopted throughout the process.
