Comparative Analyses of trip generation in public hospitals

The implementation of a new hospital increases traffic zone and change the land use of the areas close to their location. For the planner is very useful application of mathematical models to estimate the trips generated and to prevent negative impacts.

This work has as main objective to examine the concentration of trips generated in four selected hospitals in Madrid and five Brazilian hospitals, using the models of the "Institute of Transportation Engenieers" ITE, compared with developed models and actual flows.

Once performed the analysis and comparative methodology applied, distant have been obtained for the case of real flows in Madrid results. Instead, Brazilian hospitals for the proposed models can be exploited, especially for the estimation of travel by private vehicle.
