ABSTRACT
In 2008 opened the hostel for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago de Burgos, the result of an action of rehabilitation and urban regeneration promoted by the city of Burgos and financed in a 75% by the Ministry of Development under the program 1 % Cultural and the remaining 25% by the City Council. The action includes the recovery of the remains of Renaissance buildings known as Casa de los Cubos and Casa de los Lerma, and the incorporation in the adjacent site of a building housing for 11 protected rent for youth.
The whole performance is the result of the competition organized by the city of Burgos in the year 2005 in which the award for the execution of the works fell on the COPSA company construction company, SA, as draft prepared by A2G Architects. In the set it highlights the peculiar adaptation of new elements built to the special topography of the land and the existing remains, establishing a sequence of public and private open spaces that act as a link between the lower and upper part of this area of the city.
