ABSTRACT
steel and aluminum: design criteria, sizing, manufacture and installation of structures for variable message signs, paying special attention to the behaviors compared to traditionally used materials are analyzed. For detailed structural aluminum, less known than steel and industrial similarity manufacturing and installation road is analyzed, and the different behavior of the two materials before the accidents.

The variable message signs require maintenance, so these structures must be visitables, which determines minimum geometric characteristics, which can be used in the design of the structure for the limitations to deformations imposed, and force to have children of security and access.
