ABSTRACT
"Intermediate" systems called, appeared in the years 90 constitute a new family of surface transport guided on tires, which regroups three branches more or less near the bus / trolley bus or tram classic. Each of these branches is currently represented in France by an industrial system: Translohr, CIVIS and TVR. It seems interesting to make a comparison between these new systems and another class that appeared twenty years ago: the "automatic" urban guided systems which also use rolling on tires in a different context. Innovation as regards systems can be included in the overall framework of the development of urban transport and the appearance of new components: guided traction chains, energy storage, etc.
