ABSTRACT
This article describes the main variables of operating a public transport system surface are obtained by analyzing the interaction volume of traffic flowing through the common urban roads to buses, to calculate any of the sizing parameters, such as frequencies and number of buses that minimize system costs. In this case, the main overall costs affecting the operation of a bus system, including the costs of the operator and users are modeled. In addition a cost level of service represented by the cost of traveling standing and density of standing travel is included. In calculating travel time affects the volume of traffic on the road network. In peak periods, such interaction decreases the speed of operation, increase operating costs and decreased service levels.
