ABSTRACT
currently recognized the undoubted importance of drainage both during the construction of a tunnel and its subsequent operation are discussed in this article the geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological factors that determine the flow of water in the construction stage and therefore measures aimed to control their effects both on the stability and security of the work and on the condition aquifers crossed by the tunnel. It also emphasizes the relationship between drainage and waterproofing and finally, some practical indications are given for devices commonly used for waterproofing and drainage of the platform, with particular reference to road tunnels.
