ABSTRACT
Community Car Clubs have been created in many cities both in Europe and in North America, including one recently established in Barcelona. In this article the concept of community car clubs use is explained, also known as shared ownership vehicle under a "pay as leads," a concept little known even within the professional community transport. the origins and evolution of these automobile clubs, with their benefits in terms of reduced use of private cars and improving the environment are discussed. sources of information on these clubs are also identified. The article concludes by stating the author's view on the possible future evolution of car clubs and some of the challenges this may involve.
