ABSTRACT
In this article travel speed of vehicles on an urban network it is modeled. To obtain the corresponding formulation have been considered physical variables of the streets and other representative of the traffic of the city of Santander, taking into account the effect of loading and unloading of goods vehicles, as they cause a significant increase in travel time the circulation. Different models are presented according to different types of urban streets. With these models, it is possible to detect sections of urban road network negatively affected by the distribution of goods, where the average travel speed decreases causing long lines of vehicles until not end the loading and unloading. Subsequently, after an analysis of these models, specific solutions that condition driveways, parking lots and sidewalks of the streets to improve the characteristics of the movement are provided.
