ABSTRACT
some practical examples of the planning process of unique works of roads in Cantabria and some references on construction solutions or recommendations for environmental management of the road network are presented in this article. This new operational approach seeks environmental excellence of the works, which is a benchmark of the performance of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing Government of Cantabria, in line with the provisions of the new Decree 61 / 2004 defining the Unique roads Special Ecological Protection and Landscape by crossing Protected Natural areas.
