ABSTRACT
In this article the travel time of the vehicles is modeled by a potential function that relates their speed with the volume of vehicles on an urban road network. This function is used in the allocation phase vehicle network of a zone within the studies of demand for transport, and analysis service level road; but in this case, the function has been calibrated for different types of road and rail network, allowing further study traffic of each section of urban highway.

With these models, it is possible to detect the sections and lanes where congestions can appear at any given time. After calibration of the models has made a comparative analysis of them, and then some improvements in urban streets are proposed.
