The Spanish Road Association awards its 2023 Medals of Honor at the Escuela de Caminos in Madrid

The Spanish Road Association (AEC) celebrated on June 8, in Madrid, the delivery of its traditional Medals of Honor. On this occasion, 33 awards have been granted, three of them in the Gold category:

• Gold Medal of International Merit 2023, International Automobile Federation (FIA)
• Gold Medal for Personal Merit 2023, members of the Board of Directors and General Directors of Highways of Autonomous Communities and Provincial Councils
• Gold Medal for Institutional Merit 2023, Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP)

Together with these, another 30 people and institutions have beenhonored this year by the AEC with their Medals of Honor and Medals of Honor with Mention.

These awards were born in 1966 with the aim of publicly recognizing people and entities that, from their areas of responsibility, fight every day to turn our roads into safe spaces for coexistence, which guarantee mobility in conditions of efficiency and sustainability.

Since then, the AEC has awarded more than 3.000 medals to doctors, lawyers, journalists, engineers, ambulance drivers, road laborers, senior executives, officials, civil guards or traffic police, among others, for their continued work in favor of progress. road.

The members of the Board of Directors and General Directors of Roads of Autonomous Communities and Provincial Councils, distinguished with the Gold Medal for Personal Merit.

Carlos Daniel Casares, Secretary General of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (left), received the Gold Medal for Institutional Merit awarded to this entity, while Carmelo Sanz de Barros, President of the Senate of the International Automobile Federation, received the Gold Medal of International Merit with which the organization it represents has been distinguished.
