The Spanish Road Association awards its Medals of Honor tomorrow in Madrid

The Gold Medals go to the President of Vinci Construction, Pierre Anjolras (International Merit), the Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Territory Planning of the Junta de Andalucía (Institutional Merit) and the General Director of Roads of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Francisco Javier Herrero Lizano (Personal Merit)
Tomorrow, Thursday, June 9, the Spanish Road Association (AEC) will present its Medals of Honor in a face-to-face event to be held at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
These awards were born in 1966 with the aim of publicly recognizing people and entities that, from their areas of responsibility, fight every day to turn our roads into safe spaces, of coexistence, that guarantee mobility in conditions of efficiency and sustainability.
Since then, the Medals have been awarded to more than 3.000 candidates, with very different profiles: doctors, lawyers, journalists, engineers, ambulance drivers, road laborers, senior executives, officials, civil guards, traffic police...
On this occasion, there will be 33 winners, three in the Gold category:
- Pierre Anjolras, President of Vinci Construction (for International Merit)
- Ministry of Development, Infrastructure and Territory Planning of the Junta de Andalucía (for Institutional Merit)
- General Director of Highways of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Francisco Javier Herrero Lizano (for Personal Merit)
Together with them, around thirty people and institutions, with very different profiles (civil traffic guards, Mossos, Red Cross volunteers, researchers, executives...) will be honored this year by the Spanish Road Association with its Medals of Honor and Medals with Special Mention.
