Salvador Alemany, the Tráfico and Banobras Magazine, distinguished in the Medals of Honor of the Road 2017

The Spanish Road Association has celebrated the 15 of June the ceremony of delivery of their Medals of Honor, which this year has had as main protagonist to Salvador Alemany, President of the Abertis Group. His indisputable size as an entrepreneur has made this company a world leader in the management of highways. But since the ACS, by granting the Gold Medal of the Highway, it has also been highlighted other merits, such as those related to its concern to raise road safety standards. Thus, the program Road Safety, A strategic bet of the company, has reduced the number of victims in the Abertis network as a whole by an 24% in the last three years.

On the other hand, the Spanish Road Association has delivered its Silver Medal to the Traffic and Road Safety Magazine, Edited by the General Directorate of Traffic of the Ministry of the Interior. This publication has achieved something that is not easy in this sector and is reaching the success of critical and public, almost always so disparate. Because if the first great merit of the magazine is its invaluable contribution to the improvement of road safety, its second great success is to offer readers an agile, entertaining and quality journalism, with rigorous and attractive contents at the same time.

The Medal of the Road to International Merit has fallen this year in the National Bank of Public Works and Services of Mexico, Banobras, A development finance institution, with 83 years of history, that makes possible the creation of infrastructures with high social profitability. A multilateral Bank with a long-term vision that offers technical assistance to states and municipalities for the modernization, among other public works, of the Mexican highways.

In addition, other 28 people and entities -Guardia Civil, Mossos d`Esquadra, Red Cross, teachers, road technicians and positions of the Administration and the company- have also been honored on the spot.

The Spanish Road Association has been awarding its Medals of Honor for over half a century in recognition of the work that professionals and institutions do to improve our roads, quality, comfort, efficiency, technology and safety.
