About three thousand residents of Ayala Gang (Álava) involved in the road safety campaign of the Provincial Council

Strategic Road Safety Plan of the Provincial Council of Alava

Vitoria-Gasteiz, April 29 2003 2.500.- Over neighbors Ayala Gang filled out since last April 10 day until today, Tuesday 29, road safety survey with the Provincial Council of Alava pretends to know the opinion of the locals in this area.

The citizens of the municipalities of Llodio, Amurrio, Artxiniega, Okondo and Ayala have flocked to the call of the council, expressing, through the questionnaire, their considerations as varied as the state of the firm, signage, road equipment, elements that help driving, infrastructure improvements they deem necessary, etc.

This poll is part of the actions envisaged in the Strategic Road Safety Plan launched last February by the Provincial Council of Alava in collaboration with the Spanish Road Association.

Once processed and analyzed data from a technical study that contain appropriate measures to further improve the roads of Ayala will be developed and, by extension, the entire road network Alava.

The ultimate goal of the Plan is to consolidate the positive trend showed accident rates during 2002 in the Historical Territory of Alava.

According to the Traffic Department, the number of accidents on the highways of Álava fell 35,7% last year compared to 2001, and the number of victims made it a 32,7%.
