It launches the Online Security Course Road Infrastructure

At the initiative of the Institute of Road Safety MAPFRE and the Spanish Road Association

Madrid, September 19 2003.- Road safety has become a social concern of the highest order, especially since the World Health Organization called traffic accidents as the main health problem of modern societies.

There are also many, and from many different fronts, institutions currently working to improve the safety of our roads, trying to reduce the number of traffic accidents and the seriousness of its consequences.

In this sense, the MAPFRE Road Safety Institute and the Spanish Road Association (AEC) have been joining forces and developing initiatives that help improve the situation. The last, the safety course in road infrastructure, which aims to provide technical and professional road sector knowledge necessary for decision-making aimed at reducing accidents through proper identification, planning and implementation remedial and preventive measures.

This is a pioneering initiative for two reasons. The first, because it allows the possibility of training in specific knowledge related to safety from the point of view of infrastructure, based on a syllabus made from the latest research and experiences in the field. As for the second, because the students enjoy endless amenities offered Internet in terms of flexibility and availability, without neglecting the characteristics of the classroom training courses advantages, as long as students have the support of a tutor staff answer all your questions.

The course, aimed at directors, responsible for road safety, designers, planners, technicians and Spanish-speaking students, consists of five thematic related but independent: "General Knowledge", "palliative measures", "Preventive Measures", " review of Current Trends in Road Safety "and" Road Safety Audits ", structured so that each student can choose the areas you want to take. The program has been established according to the degree of difficulty, so that the final chapters require a medium level of knowledge.

At the conclusion of each of the blocks, the student will receive a certificate of achievement and once completed the full course, you will receive a diploma Security Expert Road Infrastructure.

The recommended duration for completion is six months, although there is no impediment to be extended on condition that the student has demonstrated an ongoing monitoring of the course and expresses interest in completion.
