The Ministry of Public Works of the Junta de Castilla y León, the MAPFRE Road Safety Institute and the Spanish Road Association signed a cooperation agreement

The tripartite agreement, signed this morning in Valladolid, will run for two years.

Madrid, February 27 2002.- The Spanish Road Association (AEC) has among its main objectives the active participation in all initiatives could result in the improvement of traffic safety. And it is precisely in this line of work in which the cooperation protocol signed this morning in Valladolid enroll.

It is a three-way agreement under which the signatories-Jose Manuel Fernandez, Director of Development of the Castile and Leon; Miguel Muñoz, President of the Institute of Road Safety Mapfre, and Victor Montes, President of the Spanish Association road- express their commitment to put in march different actions in the field of traffic safety. Actions that will be comprehensive in nature, addressing not only the infrastructure but also the user.

These actions will be developed in the field of Community Castilla y, and will be formative, informative, technical and outreach character. an important research for the prevention of traffic accidents weight was also awarded.

In any case, the lines of work are yet to be defined and determined on the basis of the proposals made by the three signatories.

The term of the agreement is two years, extendable due to its previous agreement of the parties.
