The decade of the 70: a time of change
Many things changed during the 70s, when Spain went from dictatorship to democracy through an exemplary transition process.
Undoubtedly, this decade was characterized by a mixture of illusion and uncertainty that was also reflected in the Association, which had to face serious difficulties and prepare for the “tough battle” that it would have to face in the following years. The main stumbling block was economic.
The Biennial Road Week continued to gain prominence. Encouraged by the success, those responsible for the AEC decided to launch another major congress, which will also be organized every two years, with secondary roads as the center of the debates. It is about the National Symposium of Roads and Works of the Local Administration, already known by the whole sector as “Vyodeal”.
Despite the fact that the Association was going through difficult economic times, the number of partners increased in these years, ending the decade with a total of 72.
