1948. the International Road Federation (IRF) is born
The Allies won the Second World War and the United States became the political and military power in the Western world. His primacy extended to all areas. In 1948, US road techniques are implemented in other countries of the Americas.
Associations, companies and administration sponsor the creation of the International Road Federation (IRF), the International Highway Federation. Almost every country in the world attended its constitution ceremony, but the Spanish Director General of Roads was denied entry. Relations between the two countries were going through one of their worst moments, so much so that the Americans had even withdrawn their ambassador from Madrid.
