1910. A 22 pesetas, all inclusive
Not only the roads asfaltaban. Since the beginning of the century experimenting with many different pavements in the streets of big cities: asphalt, entarugados, paved (prisms, grindstones, wedges or rubble) and the aforementioned macadam. According to contemporary documents, Asphalt Company of Maestu built paved roads at the price of 22 pesetas per square meter, "all expenses included". And speaking of prices, in 1910, the costs of building a new road kilometer ranged between pesetas and 11.500 46.500, the average for Spain of 23.800 pesetas.
